Thiruvananthapuram: Blue flag has been recognized internationally for two beaches in India, including Kovalam.
Finance Minister KN Balagopal has said that Kerala’s tourism projects will be extended to the sea. The budget announced the implementation of a cruise tourism project from Kovalam to Goa. Kovalam, Kollam, Kochi, Beypore, Mangalore, and Goa will be connected to the sea tourism project, the Finance Minister said. An amount of `5 crores has been set apart for this year.
The Finance Minister said that Kerala is moving beyond the beach tourism of Alappuzha and Kottayam districts to the field of maritime tourism. In addition, `150 crore has been set apart for the Kochi Jala Metro project and` 2 crores for the DPR of Sabarimala Airport.
