Thrissur: The decision to hold Thrissur Pooram with pride was taken at a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary. It was decided at the meeting to hold the Pooram with strict Covid restrictions. People will be admitted only after inspection.

Admission is limited to those over 45 years of age who have been vaccinated. Those below 45 years of age are required to show a Covid Negative Certificate. Only those who are negative in the RTPCR test will be admitted. It was also decided at the meeting to prepare special facilities for vaccination.

The health department had issued a report expressing concern over the conduct of Pooram. The Thrissur DMO has warned that if the people coming to Pooram are not controlled, there will be a big disaster. At least 20,000 people will be infected. There is a 10% chance of death.
