Thiruvananthapuram: The central government has again increased the price of kerosene. There has been an increase of 14 rupees per liter this time. Kerosene rose from Rs 88 to Rs 102 per litre.
In May, the price of a liter of kerosene was Rs 84. It increased by Rs 4 to Rs 88 in June. This has been increased again from the 1st of this month. Kerosene is supplied from ration shops with the addition of freight charges, dealers commission, CGST and SGST to the base price. The central government had increased the prices in June, but the increase was not implemented in the state. Still subsidized kerosene is distributed at Rs 84 through ration shops.
Food Minister G R Anil informed that the Commissioner of Public Distribution Department has been instructed to distribute kerosene to the card holders at this price till the stock runs out.
