Premachandran’s private bill, demanding the preservation of Sabarimala customs and restoration of the Supreme Court judgment, will not be debated in Parliament. Four bills introduced by N K Premachandran including Sabarimala are out.
Nine bills were introduced on the first day. Four bills introduced by Premachandran were dropped. The remaining five bills were decided by the lot to be discussed. Selected bills will be debated at the 12th parliamentary session.
Premachandran’s bill would not be rejected even if it was not taken up for debate at the earliest. Parliament can take it up for debate at any time. But since it was rejected by the draw, it will not be discussed in the current parliament session.
According to the Lok Sabha statute, 30 private bills presented by 9 MPs were taken up for debate on Friday.
MPs Janardhanan Singh Sigriwal, Sunil Kumar Singh and Sreeragh Barne cast their bills.
