Kochi: The High Court has stayed the orders regularising the temporary employees. The court sought an explanation from the government in the case. An explanation must be given by April 8th.
The order was passed by Justice Devan Ramachandran on a petition filed by some PSC rank-and-file candidates, alleging that the stabilization of temporary employees was against the Supreme Court order.
Stabilizations have been made at Kila, Keltron, Eeta Workers Welfare Board, C-DIT, Forest Industries Travancore Limited, Literacy Mission, Youth Commission, Bureau of Industrial Promotion, LBS, Women’s Commission, and School Kerala.
The Division Bench of the High Court had held that the order of the Supreme Court that the stabilization of temporary persons was illegal was a law of the land and no action should be taken against it.
At the same time, the government explained that the temporary employees were made permanent only in the posts which were not left to the PSC, and no action was taken in violation of the rules. The government told the court that the appointments were made under the Special Rule. The court has asked the government to produce details of the special rule.
