Kochi: Accused Mohammad Nisham gets setback in the case of killing a security guard Chandra Bose in Thrissur.
The High Court upheld the life sentence. The Division Bench of the High Court dismissed the appeal filed by accused Muhammad Nisham against the sentence of the trial court in Thrissur.
The High Court also rejected the state government’s request to increase Nisham’s sentence to death. A division bench comprising Justices K Vinod Chandran and C Jayachandran delivered the verdict in the appeals. The Supreme Court had earlier refused to stay Mohammad Nisham’s sentence.
On January 29, 2015, the incident shocked the entire Kerala. Businessman Mohammad Nisham and security guard Chandra Bose were hit by a luxury car after being delayed in opening the gate of a flat complex in Thrissur. Chandra Bose was seriously injured and died on February 16.
