Kochi: Roy Vayalat, owner of Hotel No. 18, has been charged in a remand report in a car accident case in which former Miss Kerala and runner-up may have died.
The police remand report stated that there was drug use in the hotel where the night party was held. According to the police report, Roy had given alcohol and drugs to the hotel and destroyed the hard disk to prevent it from leaking out.
The DJ party was held on the rooftop of Hotel No. 18. The power to the camera on the rooftop was cut off at 3.45 pm. Police said Roy had been serving alcohol and drugs at the party. According to the report, Roy and Saiju, who were driving an Audi car, spoke to the girls with the wrong intention.
But the girls refused and got into the car. Saiju then followed their car. Seeing the vehicle following, Abdurahman stopped the vehicle at Kundannur. After talking to Saiju, the girls quickly got into the car and chased both the cars. Meanwhile, an out-of-control vehicle collided with a tree.
The accident took place when Saiju reached Edappally but returned after the vehicle went missing. Saiju then called Roy about the accident and Roy, along with hotel staff, destroyed the hard disk. According to the remand report, Roy was thrown into a lake near his hard disk house.
But the court rejected the prosecution’s arguments, saying the prima facie case did not exist. He was charged with destruction of evidence, homicide, and incitement.
Meanwhile, the court yesterday granted bail to six persons, including Roy, who was arrested in the case. Bail was granted on the condition that he not leave Ernakulam district and submit his passport in court.
