New Delhi, September 30, 2024: The Supreme Court of India has granted interim bail to Malayalam actor Siddique, who is facing rape allegations. The court has ordered that Siddique should not be arrested for a period of two weeks.
The actor had approached the Supreme Court after the Kerala High Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea. Siddique is accused of sexually assaulting a female actor in Thiruvananthapuram.
The Supreme Court’s decision comes as a major relief for Siddique, who has been absconding since the case was registered. However, the court has imposed strict conditions on his bail, including a requirement that he surrender his passport and cooperate with the investigation.
