Palakkad: Senior advocate KP Satheesan, who was appointed as Special Public Prosecutor in the Attapadi Madhu murder case, has resigned. The action comes after Madhu’s mother came forward against Satheesan’s appointment. He later told the media that he informed the court that he was withdrawing from the case. KP Satheesan’s withdrawal is pending hearing of the appeals in the Madhu case. Don’t know why the controversy. I decided to take up the case as I felt that Madhu did not get justice. While checking the file, some errors were found. He told the media that at least 5 of the accused should have been sentenced to life imprisonment having completed 50 years in the legal profession and the controversies had caused mental strain.
Madhu’s mother had filed a grief petition seeking a direction to review the government notification appointing KP Satheesan as special prosecutor. The family and the strike committee demanded that Advocate Jeevesh, Advocate Rajesh M Menon and Advocate CK Radhakrishnan be appointed as Special Public Prosecutors in the High Court.
