Thiruvananthapuram; Special postal voting for Covid patients in local government elections is allowed only for those who are on the certified list provided by the Health Officer. Voting is not allowed for those, not on the list. Postal voting will be allowed until 3 pm the day before polling day.
Even if it is negative before the election date and the observation period is over, it is not possible to go to the polling booth and register to vote. Those who remain positive after 3 pm on the day before voting will be given the opportunity to go to the polling station and register to vote. Postal voting is open only to those on the watch list prepared by the District Health Officer.
The Certified List is compiled by the District Health Office with information on Covid patients and those under observation. This list will be forwarded to the District Election Officer. The details of those who have confirmed Covid 19 and are under surveillance should be approved by the District Health Officer at the district level. The first certified list will be prepared ten days before the election.
The District Health Officer will forward the details of those who are diagnosed with the disease and those who are being monitored on the following days.
The first certified list in the district will be submitted to the District Election Officer on December 1.
However, the certification list of voters in the districts where elections will be held on December 8 will begin on November 29. The details of those who are included in the voter lists of the adjoining districts and those who are being monitored in the district will be collected separately and handed over to the District Election Officer of the respective districts.
