Alappuzha: Five more people are in custody in the murder case of SDPI leader KS Shan in Alappuzha. It is learned that a person who was directly involved in the murder and a person involved in the conspiracy has been taken into custody. All five are RSS activists. There is no official confirmation of this.
Among those detained are Atul, a native of Mannancherry, and Dhanesh, a native of Aryad, who was involved in the conspiracy. The two were arrested from Kainakari in Kuttanad.
Two people were taken into custody on Friday morning in connection with the case, which helped the accused to abscond. Chalakudy taluk RSS Boudhik Pramukh Kallamkunnel KT Suresh (49) and Mangalath Umesh (27) were arrested.
Earlier, it was reported that Atul, a native of Mannancherry, who was directly involved in the incident, was arrested. Apart from him, Jishnu, Abhimanyu, Vishnu, and Sanand were also arrested. Earlier, three people were arrested in connection with the murder conspiracy.
This is the first time that defendants directly involved in the crime in the Shan murder case have been taken into custody. Earlier, an RSS activist was arrested for allegedly leaving an ambulance behind the group that killed Shan and preparing an ambulance to escape. Police have arrested Rajendra Prasad and Ratheesh for organizing the car. The car of the accused was found near the Kanichukulangara temple.
Earlier, it was clear to the Kerala Police that the accused had not left the district. Based on this, the accused were nabbed after an extensive search in the district. The group got into the car and escaped in an ambulance. Akhil, who had earlier been arrested by police, had said that they had gone to Cherthala. The test also took this into account. Three of the accused were arrested in Aroor. The other two were arrested while hiding in a house in Kainakari.
The SDPI State Secretary KS Shane was hacked by a group on Saturday. Shan, an SDPI activist, was attacked in Mannancherry, Alappuzha.
Shawn succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital in Ernakulam. Hours after Shan’s death, the BJP leader in Alappuzha, Ranjith Sreenivas was also killed. He was hacked to death by a mob at around 6.30 am on Sunday. However, no one has been arrested for his alleged involvement in Ranjith’s murder.
The probe team returned to Tamil Nadu in search of the culprits in the Ranjith murder case. The test is based on preliminary information. The investigation team concluded that the killer group had received assistance from outside the state. The main reason for not getting a sniff is that the defendants did not leave any digital evidence.
