Thiruvananthapuram: Decision to tighten uniform color for tourist buses. In a high-level meeting, the transport department agreed to implement the decision from tomorrow. It has also been decided to provide training to tourist bus drivers.
The decision was taken in a high-level meeting called by the transport department to evaluate the investigation report on the accident that took place in Vadakkencherry. The 18-page report will be evaluated in the meeting.
The MVD has decided and issued an order that tourist buses should have a uniform color from June. Accordingly, only violet and golden stripes on white are allowed. The rule is that buses in other colors should come to the new color code from the time of the next fitness test. But not followed. Action is also being taken against the school and college authorities who do not comply with the instructions to inform the concerned RTO of the travel details before starting the excursion.
