Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan suggested at the covid review meeting that the restrictions including lockdown will continue in the situation of covid disease spread in the state. Although covid is positive for those with serious illness, strict action will be taken if treatment is denied. Applies to all government and private hospitals in the state.
Only essential services will be allowed on Sunday, February 6th. The CM said that there was a slight decline in the spread of covid in the state. In the first phase, the spread of covid increased but decreased in Thiruvananthapuram, Wayanad and Kasaragod districts. The situation is under control in terms of the number of people admitted to hospitals and ICUs.
District-wise restrictions on A, B and C categories will continue. The second dose vaccination in the state is 84 percent complete and the pediatric vaccination is 71 percent complete. The Chief Minister directed the Health Department to expedite the vaccination. Of the 45,000 applications received for covid death financial assistance, 40,410 were granted financial assistance. About 11 lakh people are currently active in covid control activities.
