Kochi, March 10, 2024: The holy month of Ramadan will begin in Kerala on Tuesday, March 12, after the crescent moon was sighted on Monday evening.
The announcement was made by prominent Muslim scholars in the state, including Panakkad Sayyid Sadiqali Shihab Thangal, Sayyid Muhammed Koya Thangal Jamalullaili, Khaleelul Bukhari Thangal, and Palayam Imam Suhaib Moulavi.
In the Gulf countries, Ramadan began on Monday itself, as the crescent moon was sighted there on Sunday evening.
