Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in the state. An orange alert has been declared in nine districts. Yellow alert in three districts. Isolated showers are likely across Kerala in the next three hours.

August 29: Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur.
Districts where Yellow Alert has been declared
August 29: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kasaragod.
August 30: Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.
The Kerala-Lakshadweep-Karnataka coast is likely to experience strong winds up to 40 to 50 kmph till Monday, the Disaster Management Authority said. It is also suggested that fishermen should not go to sea for any reason.
