Private Bus Operators in Kerala has announced that it will go on an indefinite strike from June 7, 2023, if the government does not meet their demands. The demands include:
- Increasing the minimum fare for students to Rs 5
- Imposing an age limit on student concession
- Maintaining the current bus permits
- Allowing limited-stop buses to continue
The strike is expected to cause major disruptions to public transport in the state. The government has said that it is willing to discuss the demands, but it has not yet made any concrete offers.
