Thrissur, India – In view of the security arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Thrissur on January 17, all educational institutions, including professional colleges, in the jurisdiction of Guruvayur Municipality, Kandanassery, Choondall, Naattika, and Valappad gram panchayats will be closed.
The district collector issued an order to this effect. The holiday will be compensated by working on a Saturday. The holiday does not apply to public examinations scheduled in advance and examinations conducted for recruitment to central, state, and semi-government institutions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Guruvayur and Thriprayar temples on January 17. He will also lay the foundation stone for several development projects.
