Thiruvananthapuram: As part of strengthening the covid precaution, the police inspection will be strengthened after the government made it compulsory to wear a mask in the state.
It is reported that the police inspection will be intensified from Today. District police chiefs were instructed to resume inspections and impose fines on violators.
Those who fail to wear the mask will be fined Rs 500. The fine, which was Rs 200 in the first wave of covid, was later increased to Rs 500. Penalties are proposed under the Disaster Prevention Act (2005).
After a break, the government re-imposed the mask in the state. The decision comes against the backdrop of covid spreading. Wearing a mask is mandatory in public places, workplaces and while traveling. The Health Department has directed that the order be strictly enforced.
At the same time, in the event of a covid outbreak, the search and night check to detect drunk drivers who have stopped for two years and then started may continue. It is reported that the DGP will issue an order clarifying the matter.
