Poet Vishnu Narayan Namboothiri has passed away. He was 81 years old. The end was at Thiruvananthapuram.
His style of poetry was a combination of tradition and modernity. He has also served as a teacher. After retirement, he also worked as a pacifist.
Famous works include Swathandrathe Kurichoru Geetham, Pranaya Geethangal, India Enna Vikaram, and Aparajitha.
In 2014, the country honored him with the Padma Shri. He has won the Central and Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards, the Odakkuzhal Award, the Ezhuthachan Award, and the Vallathol Award.
