Kochi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will present four projects worth Rs 6,100 crore to the country at a function in Kochi today.
He is a propylene derivatives petrochemical complex at the Cochin Refinery, an inland waterways authority’s raw-roll vessel at Wellington Island, an international cruise terminal at the Cochin Port Trust, and a Cochin Shipyard’s Marine Engineering Training Institution. He will also lay the foundation stone of the Cochin Port Trust’s South Colbert at a function at the BPCL Refinery in Ambalamukal.
The Prime Minister will arrive at the Naval Airport from Chennai at 2.45 pm. The opening ceremony will be from 3.30 pm to 4 pm. He will then return to Delhi at 5.55 pm. The function will be attended by Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, and Mansukh L Mandavia. The Center has spent Rs 6,000 crore on the petrochemical complex at the Cochin refinery alone, he said. With the completion of the International Cruise Terminal, the port of Kochi will be expanded to accommodate ships up to 420 meters wide, Shipping Minister Mansouk L Mandavia said.
