Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister Antony Raju said that passengers with disabilities up to 45 percent will be allowed travel pass in buses from now on. Until now, bus passes were given to people with 50 percent disability.
The Minister said that the decision was taken after considering the application of Salmabi, a native of Thaliparam, in the Vaaneyam Adalat organized in the Kannur district. Salmabi had been working tirelessly for the last one and a half years with this petition for her husband Feroze Khan. The Minister said that the decision was taken after attending the Vahaneeam Adalat held at Salmabi Kannur Shikshak Sadan and making a direct complaint.
Feroze Khan’s body became weak in 2017 following a stroke. Can’t walk without help. Feroze Khan is currently working in a bread company. After waiting for a year and a half, the complaint was resolved after reaching Adalat. The transport minister added that the new decision will bring relief to many people in Kerala who are suffering from such difficulties.
