Pathanamthitta: Over 7 lakh pilgrims have visited Sabarimala during the 13 days of the Mandala season. 54,000 pilgrims visited the temple yesterday through virtual queue. The Travancore Devaswom Board expects the crowd to increase in the coming days.
Out of the 51,308 pilgrims who booked through virtual queue yesterday, 18,308 had darshan by 9 am. The biggest rush is experienced when the temple opens at 3 am.
Those who come without booking virtual queue are given spot booking passes to go to Sannidhanam on showing their identity card. Taking advantage of this, 8,500 to 9,000 people come every day.
On Saturday, the busiest day of this pilgrimage season, 70,000 people had darshan through virtual queue alone. Meanwhile, the Travancore Devaswom Board expects the crowd to increase in the coming days and the number of devotees arriving daily may reach 90,000.
