Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George has said that omicron has confirmed nine more people in the state. Omicron was confirmed to six persons in Ernakulam and three persons in Thiruvananthapuram. Two people from the UK, a young woman from Tanzania and a boy, a young woman from Ghana, and a young woman from Ireland were diagnosed with the disease in Ernakulam. Omicron was confirmed in Thiruvananthapuram to a husband, wife, and woman from Nigeria. Omicron has so far confirmed a total of 24 cases in the state.
All the six persons who arrived at Ernakulam Airport on December 18 and 19 were covid positive on the airport check. So they were admitted directly to the hospital. There are no outsiders in their contact list. The couple, who arrived at the Thiruvananthapuram airport from Nigeria on December 10, tested positive on December 17. Their two children are on the primary contact list.
