Kottayam: Hotel owner arrested in case of death of nurse Rashmi Raj due to food poisoning in Kottayam. Latif, a native of Kasargod, was arrested by the Gandhinagar police. He was arrested from Kammanahalli near Bangalore. Sirajuddin, the hotel’s chief cook, who had gone into hiding earlier, was caught.
The preliminary post-mortem confirmed that the cause of death of nurse Rashmi was an infection in the internal organs. Police said the chemical test results are crucial to confirm the type of infection.
The preliminary post-mortem report states that Rashmi’s health deteriorated due to an infection in her kidney and liver. But there is no confirmation of the type of infection. For this purpose, it will be sent to Thiruvananthapuram Regional Chemical Lab for testing along with body fluids. Food poisoning can only be confirmed based on the report of chemical test results.
