Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the central government has sanctioned new oxygen plants in Kollam, Alappuzha, and Kottayam districts. He made this clear at a press conference. Out of the 72 new oxygen plants sanctioned in the country from the Prime Minister’s Fund, Kerala got three.
The Union Ministry of Health informed the Chief Secretary that permission has been granted to set up oxygen plants at Paripally Government Medical College, Pala General Hospital, and Alappuzha Beach Hospital. The central government has directed that the oxygen plant be commissioned by the 31st of this month. Funds will be provided by the Central Government. It is up to the state to find a place adjacent to the hospitals and run it.
