Palakkad: Chenthamara (58), the accused in the Nenmara double murder case, who was arrested after a massive search on Tuesday night, was remanded by the court. Chenthamara, who was remanded by the Alathur First Class Judicial Magistrate Court, was taken to the Alathur sub-jail. The remand is for 14 days. The investigation team announced that the custody application will be filed the next day.
Chenthamara told the court that killing 3 people was wrong and that he should be punished for 100 years. He committed the murder alone. He did it because he ruined his life. The sentence should be carried out as soon as possible. He does not want to go out anymore. The police did not harass him. He cannot show his face in front of his daughter, who is an engineer, and his son-in-law in the Special Branch – the accused informed the court.
Chenthamara, who went on the run after hacking to death Sudhakaran, a native of Pothundi, and his mother Meenakshi, was arrested by the police after a 36-hour search.
