Thiruvananthapuram: After the arrest of a young man who threatened to blow up the Mumbai airport with a bomb, the anti-terrorist squad of the Mumbai Police arrested another person from Thiruvananthapuram in the incident. Febin (23), a native of Kilimanoor Chuta, was taken into custody early on Saturday.
Febin’s house and surroundings were under surveillance by anti-terrorist forces since Friday. The young man was taken to Mumbai. In the case, Amin, a native of Poonthura, was arrested from Thiruvananthapuram by the anti-terrorist squad on Friday evening. The hard disk of the computer from which the e-mail was sent was seized.
On Thursday, Amin sent a message threatening to demolish the airport if the 8.5 crore is not paid. The Mumbai Sahar Police registered an FIR and handed over the case to the Anti-Terrorism Squad. The ATS will also investigate whether there is a terrorist link behind the threat.
The airport authorities received the message at 11 am on Thursday. Following this, the ATS has started an investigation. The investigation team and the Kerala Police are not ready to release more information.
