Kottayam: Action against the police officer in case of stealing mango from a fruit shop in Kanjirapally. The Idukki district police chief has ordered that PV Shihab, a native of Vandanpatal, a civil police officer of the Idukki AR camp, has been suspended.
Kanjirapally police have registered a case against Shihab. The case is based on the complaint of Nasser, who runs a fruit shop in Kanjirapally town. Shihab, who returned from duty at Kottayam Medical College, stole 10 kg of mangoes last Friday at four in the morning.
Shihab, who works at Idukki Police Headquarters, was on duty at Kottayam Medical College that day. On his way back to his home in Mundakkayam on his scooter after duty, he stole mangoes from the fruit shop at Kanjirapalli Parathot. Here the mangoes were covered in baskets by the roadside. After stopping the scooter, Shihab stole the mango and put it in storage under the seat of the scooter.
In the morning, when he came to trade, he realized that the mangoes had been stolen. According to the complaint given to the police by the owner of the fruit shop, Nasser, 10 kg of mangoes worth Rs. 600 were stolen. The CCTV footage installed in front of the shop caught the officer.
