Thiruvananthapuram: The cyclone formed in the south-eastern Bay of Bengal and intensified into the low pressure in the central part of the Bay of Bengal. The Central Meteorological Department said it was likely to move westwards for the next three days.
This is the fifth low in October. The low-pressure area extends from the southeastern Arabian Sea to the coast of Kerala to the coast of Karnataka in the Middle East.
The Central Meteorological Department has forecast widespread thundershowers and isolated showers in Kerala till October 31 due to the formation of low pressure in the Bay of Bengal and low-pressure path in the Arabian Sea.
