Thiruvananthapuram: With the announcement of lockdown in the state from May 8, KSRTC will run more long-distance services today. CMD Biju Prabhakar also directed all unit officers to run more services without any complaints as per the passenger rush, including long-distance services, as there is a possibility of experiencing passenger congestion especially today and tomorrow in the wake of the announcement of the lockdown.
If required, three buses will be operated from Bangalore to Kerala for emergency evacuation as per the government instructions. The CMD said the service would be run from there if the Karnataka government allows it. The CMD said the maximum number of buses will be in service from tonight to tomorrow night as per the demand of long-distance commuters.
