Kochi: With the strength of experience, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan will once again lead the CPI (M) state unit. General Secretary Sitaram Yechury announced that Kodiyeri has been unanimously elected as the Secretary of the State Conference which concluded in Kochi today.
This is Kodiyeri’s third consecutive term as state secretary. Kodiyeri, 70, is a politburo member and editor-in-chief of Deshabhimani. The conference elected an 88-member state committee and a 17-member secretariat. Kodiyeri first took over the leadership in 2015 when Pinarayi Vijayan vacated his seat at the Alappuzha conference.
