Kochi: Kerala Congress (M) chairman and MLA KM Mani (86) passed away. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kochi due to a lung ailment. The doctors confirmed that he died at 4.57 pm.
He was admitted to a private hospital in Kochi on April 5 following a respiratory illness. Dialysis was in progress because the kidneys are in trouble. At the time of the death, his wife Kuttiahamma and his son Jose K Mani were accompanied by grandchildren.
He was suffering from severe asthma treatment. Despite the improvement in the health condition this morning, the condition worsened by 3 pm. Heartbeat and blood pressure were diminished.
KM Mani was not participating in the election campaign because of his illness. KM Mani, the finance minister in the UDF government, was the one who presented the budget more times.
