The Kerala University Students’ Union (KSU) won a landslide victory in the recently held union elections. The KSU won the union in Mar Ivanios College and Nedumangadu Government College.
The KSU’s victory in Mar Ivanios College is particularly significant, as it is the first time the party has won the union in 24 years. Melvin Thomas Tharakan was elected chairman.
The KSU also won the union in Nedumangadu Government College, which was also a long-time stronghold of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI).
In other results, the KSU won the union in the following colleges:
- Pangode Mannananni College
- Perinthalmanna Iqbal College
- Nagaroor Sree Sankara College
- Thiruvananthapuram Government Law College
The SFI won the union in the following colleges:
- Thiruvananthapuram University College
- Thiruvananthapuram Women’s College
- Chempazathi SN College
- Attingal Government College
The ABVP won the union in Dhanuvachapuram VTMNSS College.
