Thiruvananthapuram, July 26: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has asked the police to drop the case that was registered against the sound set owner for the mic howling incident that took place during his speech at an event to commemorate former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
The incident took place on July 24, when CM was delivering his speech at the event. The mic suddenly started howling, making it difficult for him to be heard. The event was being telecast live, and the howling mic caused a lot of embarrassment for the CM.
The police registered a case against the sound set owner under Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which deals with deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings. However, Vijayan has now asked the police to drop the case.
