THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Information Commissioner Dr Km Dileep has ordered that the RTI Act applies to Kerala Bank (Kerala State Co-operative Bank) and is liable to provide information to citizens under the RTI Act 2005.
The Commission’s order was taken after considering the complaint petition filed by PB Hemalatha in Kochu Palluruthi. The Commission’s order was on a complaint petition that Kerala Bank did not provide information on an application made under the Right to Information Act and that action should be taken after investigation.
The Commission directed the General Manager to appoint Public Information Officers and Appellate Authority in Kerala Bank as an institution established by the order issued by the Government and as an institution which has received substantial financial assistance from the Government, Kerala Bank will come under the purview of the Right to Information Act.
