Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram CJM court has ordered further investigation in the missing case of Jesna Maria James. The order comes on a petition filed by Jesna’s father, James Joseph. The court directed a fresh probe based on new evidence presented by James.
James had petitioned the CJM court alleging that the ongoing CBI investigation was not effective. He also submitted sealed evidence related to the case to the court. James informed the court that Jesna might not be alive and that he could provide confidential information about an unknown friend.
Following this, the court asked the CBI to submit the case diary. The court indicated that further investigation would be ordered if the evidence presented by James hadn’t been considered by the CBI earlier.
Jesna went missing from Kottayam, Kerala on March 22nd, 2018. The CBI, which took over the investigation, hasn’t made any significant progress so far. This prompted Jesna’s father to approach the court seeking a renewed investigation.
