New Delhi: The NIA has filed a charge sheet against three Malayalees for alleged IS links. The charge sheet was filed against Dr.Mohammad Amin from Malappuram, Mushab Anwar from Kannur, and Ochira Memana native Dr. Rahees Rashid. Three are accused of recruiting young people into the organization by campaigning in favor of the Islamic State terrorist organization through social media. The NIA filed the charge sheet in a Delhi court based on clear evidence.
The NIA said it had detected crimes such as propaganda of IS ideology, fundraising, and recruitment of youth. The NIA has registered a case against ten people. Mohammad Amin, the leader of the group, arrived in Kerala in March last year after the collapse of the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq. In March 2020, he also visited Jammu and Kashmir, and Delhi. The NIA also found that it had raised funds from Kashmir with the help of Rahees.
