Kochi: The High Court rejected the plea to allow Vande Bharat Express to stop at Tirur. The High Court stated that the Railways has the power to decide where the trains should stop and the court cannot interfere in this. The order was by Justice Bechu Kurien.
There is widespread criticism of Vandebharat not having a stop at Tirur. ET Muhammad Basheer MP responded that this cannot be justified in any way. ET Muhammad Basheer had also said that he would mobilize the masses against this neglect of Tirur, the main station of Malappuram, the most populous district in Kerala, and go ahead with a strong protest program.
At the same time last day stone pelting at Vandebharat train at Thirunnavaya in Malappuram was also a big news. The attack took place after leaving Tirur station during the Kasaragod – Thiruvananthapuram service. The train left Tirur station at 5 pm on Monday.
