Kochi: High Court rejected the eligibility of Priya Varghese. High Court verdict that she is not eligible for the post of Associate Professor. Priya’s first rank list should be rechecked. The High Court said further action should be taken only after re-examination. At the same time, the petitioner Prof. Joseph Skaria responded that he was happy with the verdict and the victory of the fight. Priya Varghese also said that she respects the High Court verdict.
The high court judgment observed that none of the services claimed by Priya Varghese like research period, NSS, coordinator, student director, etc. would constitute teaching experience. The university should re-examine whether Priya Varghese is eligible. The rank list should be rearranged. Only after this, was the court directed to take further action on the rank list.
Priya Varghese said that she respects the High Court verdict and will take further action after consulting legal experts.
Priya does not have enough teaching experience. The court also stated in the order that he has not worked in the post of professor for the required period. The court also judged that Priya Varghese’s qualifications were not academic. The court order criticized the scrutiny committee for not considering Priya’s teaching experience and the selection committee for appointing Priya with a low academic score.
