Yellow alert has been announced today in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Palakkad districts.
As part of the Tulam season, northeasterly winds are intensifying over the Bay of Bengal and over South India. As a result of this, there is a possibility of widespread rain in the state for the next five days. According to the Meteorological Center, there is a chance of rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places. Yellow alert has been declared in seven districts today.
Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki districts have yellow warning for tomorrow and the day after. Rain warning issued in 9 districts on Wednesday.
Widespread heavy rains are likely to occur in South Kerala and Central Kerala. The special feature of Tulavarsha is the rain with thunder and lightning that starts from the eastern region in the afternoon. There is no restriction on fishing in Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts.
