Kochi: Heavy rain and wind are likely in the state in the next few days, the Central Meteorological Department said. An orange alert has been announced in Ernakulam district considering the possibility of heavy rain for the next two days. In this situation, the District Collector Dr. Renu Raj informed that tourism-related activities will not be allowed in the hilly areas and coastal areas of the district.
Revenue and local bodies departments will take steps to relocate people living in areas prone to soil erosion and landslides if necessary. Control rooms at the district level and taluk level will be functioning 24 hours a day.
