Government announces ‘Work Near Home’ scheme; The allocation is `50 crore

Thiruvananthapuram: Finance Minister KN Balagopal presented the state budget for the next financial year in the Assembly. This time the government announced the ‘Work Near Home’ scheme. With the opening of IT-based work centers in various parts of the state, educated housewives can also become part of the workforce. The Finance Minister said that Rs 50 crore has been set aside for this project.
Finance Minister KN Balagopal said that after covid ideas like work from home are likely to survive and continue on a large scale. The Finance Minister pointed out that the possibility of providing employment online for companies around the world should be utilized. This is what the ‘Work Near Home’ project is for.
