The gold trade in Kerala has reached an all-time high. Today, the price of one pavan of gold has surged to Rs. 72,120, with the rate per gram standing at Rs. 9,015. The gold price, which had been steady at Rs. 71,560 for the past three days, has now risen by Rs. 560, marking a new historical peak.
Since the beginning of this month, the price of gold in Kerala has increased by Rs. 4,040. On April 1, the price of one pavan was recorded at Rs. 68,080. However, a decline was observed afterward. By April 8, the price dropped to Rs. 65,800 per pavan, the lowest rate this month. Contrary to expectations of further decline, the price began a sharp upward trend. On April 12, the gold price crossed Rs. 70,000.
Market experts suggest that the current high prices could bring significant changes to the gold trade, with the growing attraction to gold among people being a key factor behind this surge.
