Thiruvananthapuram: A temporary solution has been found to the vaccine shortage in the state. The crisis was resolved with the arrival of four lakh doses of covishield vaccine from the central government yesterday. The vaccine which reached Thiruvananthapuram yesterday will be distributed to Ernakulam and Kozhikode regions today. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reiterated yesterday that the responsibility for giving the covid vaccine lies with the Central Government.
At the same time, strict restrictions on the covid defense remain in place in the state. Strict control similar to the lockdown has been introduced in the state since yesterday in the wake of the escalation of the covid cases. The restriction is until Sunday. Police inspections have also been tightened.
Restrictions are in place for all activities except essential services. Those who go for essentials should take care of travel documents. Unnecessary travel is not allowed. Those who left unnecessarily were warned by the police in several places and sent back.
