Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet meeting decided to pay Rs 5 lakh each as compensation to the family of those killed in the flash floods and landslides. Rs. 4 lakh will be given to those whose houses are completely destroyed. Those who have lost their houses on outlying land will be given Rs. 6 lakh to buy land and Rs. 4 lakh to build a house.
Those whose houses are partially destroyed will be given Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 2.5 lakh. The Cabinet approved the recommendation of the Revenue Department to increase the compensation.
