Kochi: Minister Antony Raju gets temporary relief in an evidence tampering case. The High Court granted a one-month stay for further proceedings in the case against Minister Antony Raju. Anthony Raju’s plea in the case of tampering with evidence
has been accepted in the file. The court also ordered notices to send notices to the opposite parties.
Antony Raju approached the High Court with a request to quash the case. The case against Antony Raju is that Australian citizen Andrew Salvatore Sarvali took away the underwear which was the main part of the drug case from the court and cut it and tampered with it.
A case was filed against Andrew Salvatore Sarveli’s lawyer Antony Raju and court clerk Jose after the forensic examination confirmed that the underwear had been cut and sewn. In 2014, the case against Antony Raju came before the Magistrate Court. However, the trial dragged on unreasonably.
The trial in the case will begin on the 4th of this month. The case is being heard by the Nedumangad Magistrate Court. Three witnesses will be examined on that day. There are a total of 29 witnesses in the case.
