Thiruvananthapuram: Cyclone Mokha formed in the Bay of Bengal and made landfall between Bangladesh and Myanmar. Cyclone Mokha, which was moving at a speed of 210 km per hour, wreaked havoc. As a result of this, heavy rains are received in the coastal areas.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Center has warned that St. Martin’s Island in Bangladesh will be underwater due to the storm that may occur as a result of the cyclone. People on the island have been alerted as a precaution. There are no major constructions on the island. The island may be directly affected by the lack of obstruction to the hurricane’s passage.
The hurricane is passing through St. Martins. As a result of this effect, water is likely to flow from one side of the island to the other. The Meteorological Center said that due to the rough sea, the island may be underwater for a while and then it will be washed away.
As a result of the influence of Mokha, rain with thunder and lightning is likely at isolated places in Kerala.
