Morena: Four people, including two women, have been arrested for cow slaughter in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena. A juvenile is also in custody.
The action comes after the discovery of cow meat and cowhide from a house in Bengali Colony in Noorabad district. Among those arrested, Asghar and Reetha were charged under the National Security Act.
A resident of the village, Anipal Gurjar, approached the police on Friday evening, alleging that some people beat him up when he resisted trying to kill the cow. Following this, two sacks full of meat, bones and skin were found.
Madhya Pradesh is a state where cow slaughter has been banned due to the cow slaughter law. Here, cow slaughter is punishable by imprisonment for up to seven years.
