Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister KK Shailaja has said that the preparations for the centers for Covid vaccination have been completed in the state. In Kerala, 8062 health workers received vaccination on the first day. The minister said no side effects of the vaccine have been reported so far.
The vaccine is given on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. The minister said Wednesday was a day of vaccination for children so that it would not be disrupted and the state has decided to continue vaccination in the same manner following the success of the first day.
It has been decided to vaccinate 100 people in 133 centers in the coming days. Vaccination will start from Monday at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College and from Tuesday at more centers including Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital.
The vaccine is currently being given to health workers. Once completed, the vaccine will be given to various Covid Front militants, police, Revenue Department employees, municipal workers, and Anganwadi workers who have collaborated with Covid, the minister said.
