Aranmula: The Women’s Commission of Kerala has been registered a suo moto case in the incident where a COVID patient was raped in Aranmula. Shahida Kamal, a member of the Women’s Commission, said the harassment complaint was being taken seriously. Shahida Kamal said that she has sought a report from Pathanamthitta SP KG Simon on the incident.
Police say Noufal, the driver who raped a 20-year-old COVID patient in 108 ambulance, has been active in recent rape cases and murder cases also.
The incident took place around one 1’clock on Sunday morning. The girl was allegedly assaulted by an ambulance driver while being taken to a treatment center after COVID was confirmed. The incident came to light after the girl revealed the matter to the police after she was rushed to the hospital. Ambulance driver Noufal, a native of Kirikadu, Kayamkulam, was arrested by the police. He is accused in a criminal case.
